Choppity has an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so AI assistants can make clips, check on jobs, render and post for you. You connect it with a normal sign-in: no API key to paste.
Server address: https://api2.choppity.com/mcp
Who can connect: the owner of your main workspace, on a paid plan. Apps connect to your main workspace, not a sub-team.
Connect an assistant
Go to Settings → MCP and pick your client. The page shows the steps for each one.
Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Name it Choppity and paste the server address.
- Click Connect, then approve on the Choppity screen that opens.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps and create an app. If you don't see the option, turn on Developer mode under Advanced.
- Paste the server address and choose OAuth.
- Approve on the Choppity screen that opens.
Claude Code
- Run
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user choppity https://api2.choppity.com/mcp. - Type
/mcp, pick choppity and choose Authenticate. - Approve on the Choppity screen that opens.
Cursor, VS Code and Codex are also listed. They use an API key in their config rather than a sign-in. See Creating and managing API keys.
The approval screen
When your assistant connects, Choppity opens a page titled "Connect {client} to Choppity" that names the workspace it wants to use and lists what it will be able to do:
- make clips from your videos and links
- check on clip jobs and renders
- render clips and give you download links
- draft, schedule and post to your connected socials
It asks you before it posts anything. Click Approve to connect, or Cancel. If the request comes from a site other than claude.ai or chatgpt.com, the page says so.
What the assistant can do
The server offers these tools: whoami, createupload, refreshuploadurls, completeupload, startclipjob, listtemplates, getclipjob, startrender, getrender, listsocials, listclipposts, getpost, updatepost, publishpost and cancelpost.
When it starts a clip job, it can set:
- clip_count: 1 to 30. The default is about one clip per minute of video.
- caption_style: a style name, or "none". The default is Basic.
- templateid: one of your templates, from listtemplates.
- aspect_ratio: 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9. The default is 9:16. Caption style and aspect ratio override the template's.
Disconnect an app
Under Settings → MCP, the Connected apps card lists each app with where it connected from, when, and when it was last used. Click Disconnect and confirm. The app loses access to the workspace within a minute. Only the owner of the main workspace can do this.
